UVE’s primary insurance company subsidiaries (The “Insurance Entities”), Universal Property and Casualty Insurance Company (UPCIC) and American Platinum Property and Casualty Insurance Company (APPCIC), provide insurance for personal residential: homeowners, renters/tenants, condo unit owners, and other related coverages.
Our subsidiary, Alder Adjusting (“AA”, formerly Universal Adjusting Corporation), manages our claims processing and adjustment functions from claim inception to conclusion for our Insurance Entities.
Evolution Risk Advisors (ERA) is the managing general agent (MGA) for UVE’s Insurance Entities, and advises on actuarial, distribution, claims payment and policy administration, underwriting, and assists with reinsurance negotiations. Our subsidiary, Wicklow Inspection Corporation, supports ERA by conducting inspections as part of our underwriting process.
In conjunction with ERA, our fully-licensed reinsurance intermediary, Blue Atlantic Reinsurance Corporation (“BARC”), partners with third-party reinsurance brokers to place and manage its reinsurance program for the Insurance Entities.
UVE’s extensive distribution network includes: a network of over 9,000 independent agents, UVE’s in-house agents supported by Evolution Risk Advisors and online distribution channels, including Clovered, UVE’s direct-to-consumer platform.
UVE’s continuous improvement in the digital age is a key component of the company’s strength. From UVE’s technology-enabled distribution platform to our streamlined claims management, UVE embraces technology across every step of the value chain.
How UVE Builds Value
UVE’s focus is on doing ordinary, better. With over 20 years of success, UVE maintains a relentless focus on developing products and solutions to strengthen its foundation and continuously improve the customer experience.
People are the cornerstone of UVE’s success. With an agile, entrepreneurial spirit and resolute attitude, UVE’s teams create long-term value for shareholders and seek to cultivate best practices.
Enabling technology is a driving force behind UVE. From creating a proprietary back-office platform, to launching the first Florida online distribution platform that enables consumers to fully complete a policy purchase online, UVE is differentiating itself to deliver a superior customer experience.
UVE, through it’s primary insurance company subsidiaries are proven leaders, particularly under harsh conditions, taking a disciplined approach to writing policies. These units seek to consistently produce an underwriting profit, to maintain a conservative balance sheet for years in which UVE is not able to achieve an underwriting profit and to generate investment income.
UVE’s service company subsidiaries provide critical support to our primary insurance companies, generating operational efficiencies as well as inversely-correlated fee income.
